About FLAX Clothing
The Company FLAX
From a renovated dairy barn in Central New York and a design studio in the heart of San Francisco we bring you the creative exuberance of Flax. They are an animated design and manufacturing company dedicated to creating comfortable and affordable garments that express the liveliness of spirit.
Flax offers uniquely exquisite styles to suit every body with sizes ranging from Small through Generous 3 (which in most cases can fit up to a 30). The majority of their collections utilize rich beautiful linens in a range of weights and colors, from dramatic to demure, to appeal to a wide range of tastes. For added convenience and ease, each preshrunk garment is easy to care for, washable & dryable. They also feature seasonal collections that incorporate Cotton, Rayon, Wool and blends to create casual elegant silhouettes that embody the playful jubilant nature of their designers.
They go to great lengths considering every detail from creating original prints to reversible designs, as well as selecting the handmade buttons for each collection. The Corozo buttons are carved from the Tagua seed, a sustainable resource from the Rainforest. This vegetable ivory actually preceded plastic in button fabrication beginning in the late 1800's. Utilizing this beautiful accent in our clothes helps ensure the future of the Rainforest, but also the employment of its indigenous people.
We carry mostly the 100% Washable Linen line of FLAX but have started to buy other lines which include a RAYON group and the FALL FLAX group we will carry 100% Dupioni Silk and in the TEMPERATE groups, we will carry a 41% Rayon/40% Cotton/19% Linen Textured fabric.
All of our linens can be machine washed or dry cleaned. We recommend you to wash your linen at 60° C/140 °F. In case of persistent stains, the fabric may be boiled (with preliminary washing and soaking, if needed). Linens must be completely unfolded before washing. Do not overload the machine. Ironing should be done on slightly damp linen. In addition please check specific washing instructions included with the products.
